COMPLETE 1 SERVICE ACTIVITY FROM THE CHOICES BELOW
1. Host a Regional Event
Hosting a regional event is a great way to build Community in your local area and elevate learning with educational technology. As an Advocate we'd like you to join in coordinating an existing event, or if one doesn't exist, get one going!
Objectives: An advocate will coordinate, or serve with a team that coordinates a regional user group event.
Estimated Time Commitment: Let's be honest, there's no good way to estimate time here.
Guidelines: Follow the directions in All About the Canvas Users Group Toolkit
Submission Requirements: Submit a URL for the regional event and describe your role in the comments section
2. Live Webinar Session
Live webinar events are a great way to share expertise and knowledge. As an advocate we'd like you to share your expertise and knowledge, or facilitate the sharing of others. To complete this activity you will host at least 2 live webinars.
Objectives: An advocate will plan and present 2 live/recorded webinar sessions either in the CanvasLIVE [Community] or Canvas Webinars [Instructure Web].
Estimated Time Commitment:
Prep: 2-5 hours each
Presentation: 1/2 - 1 hour each
Hosted through CanvasLIVE
They should be a minimum of 1/2 hour and no longer than 1 hour each.
The webinars should be recorded and the recording should be shared as a link in the comments of the CanvasLive event.
Hosted through the Canvas Website
Opportunities will be posted on an as needed basis.
Please submit the URLs of the two events
3. Community Q&A
Answering the questions of other users helps them tremendously, but you just might be amazed at how much you learn in the process as well. As an advocate, we'd like you to serve others by helping them to overcome the hurdles they've encountered and shared.
Objectives: An advocate will provide an answer for 30 unique questions within the Community
Estimated Time Commitment: 2-20 minutes per question - dependent on the amount of research or explanation required to answer the question
Provide a spreadsheet or document of links to the 30 answers you provided. This means you might want to track them as you go so you don't have to hunt your answers down later
Submit your completed spreadsheet or document
4. Community Resources
Community resources can be in the form of documents or blog posts. As an Advocate, we would like you to share your creations, epiphanies, learning, or whatever inspires you as a tangible resource for the Community.
Objectives: An advocate will publish 6 unique documents or blogs, or a combination of the two, in the Community.
Estimated Time Commitment: 1-5 hours each - dependent on the amount of research involved and how long it takes you to compose
- How do I create a blog post in the Canvas Community?
- Your content can be in the form of a series or all unique.
- This activity is different than the Outreach: Blogging activity (defined in the Outreach Activity Submission assignment), but the work you do in this content type could inform a formal blog.
Submit the URLs of the 6 content items you created
